Many buildings in this use limestone in construction. Indiana limestone is an excellent product well suited for the midwest climate. Coping stone, window sill installation,
facade belt course, and medallion presentation are just some of the uses. We work with many types of stone depending on the application. The proper installation of the individual stone with interior flashing
is very important in the future of a building.
Before
In this project located at 6107 N. Wastenaw, Chicago, Il, a third floor fire destroyed the exterior limestone art work. The steel linteel and all the stone work was replaced. All
existing pieces were salvaged as best as possible and the pattern of art work was re-traced as best as possible. All new stone was hand carved and carefully installed.
A crane lifted some of the pieces in
place. The whole process is drawn out in time but a careful approach is needed for the end result.
